Bad news: summer is officially over. (I wore my jacket outside today.)
Good news: Something special is happening on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at The LaQuinta Hotel in Tacoma and you’re invited.
It’s the third annual Washington School Assembly Showcase, an opportunity for you to see the best kidshow performers in the area. I know you’re not a school, but you do hire many of the same performers for everything from day camps to community celebrations. This is your chance to connect with some of your favorites and see new talent that you’d like to bring to your area. Plus, each organization that attends receives a $50 off coupon good towards any one program they book that day. (But it’s good on September 25th only – so you or someone from your school or organization needs to be there!)
Doors open at noon to meet and talk with the artists and presenters. The Showcase
performances begin at 2:00 pm. There is time after the performances to meet with your favorite performers, ask questions, and take advantage of your $50 discount coupon.
This isn’t some boring conference like you normally get dragged to. Do you remember
the funnest school assembly you saw when you were growing up? Me too! Those are the things you never forget. Well, those kind of people – over a dozen different star performers – are going to be at the Assembly Showcase. Crazy juggler Alex Zerbe. Magic man Jeff Evans. Singers/songwriters Buck and Elizabeth. Mr. Toymaker Rick Hartman. The one and only Pacific Science Center.
We also have amazing people that you may not have heard of, and that’s what the Assembly Showcase is all about – bringing you fresh, new ideas to motivate and
inspire your students. Meet storyteller and physical actor Rick Huddle. See how W.E. C.A.R.E. Sports encourages kids to be their best. Eric Haines brings his groovy one-man-band. The list goes on. Other performers couldn’t attend but are listed with photos and
program descriptions online at the Assembly Showcase Directory.
Kids are welcome, too! The other performers and I make it our job connecting with students, and we want kids in the audience to make this a real show. Admission is free for everyone who RSVPs… and just $5 at the door. Pre-registrants receive a Washington Guide of School Assembly Presenters, a 3-ring binder with
information about all of the exhibitors. It’s a great resource you’ll keep and use. Pre-registrants also receive free raffle tickets good for over a dozen fun prizes provided by the exhibitors. Cake and refreshments are provided for everyone.
Can you do me a favor and forward this note to anyone you know who may be interested in attending? Parks and recreation professionals, PTA or booster club parents, librarians, festival coordinators, and anyone involved with planning quality programs for youth are welcome.
To reserve your spot, send e-mail to email@example.com or call toll-free (877) 412-5064. Include your school/organization name and the number of guests you’re
bringing. Hope to see you there, and thanks in advance for helping spread
