PTA leaders attend the state annual convention for training, to elect new leaders, attend workshops and seminars, visit with service providers and vendors, and network and socialize. I’ve been exhibiting at the Washington State PTA convention since the late 1990s (though I haven’t had a booth every single year). There are a several people – both PTA leaders and members as well as vendors and exhibitors – who have been involved much longer than me. It’s fun catching up with these people who I only see once a year.
- Scott Peterson, aka the Reptile Man, has been captivating school audiences for decades
- Fundraising companies are big-time at the convention and fill a vital role: providing $$ for school projects
- Cherrydale was baking cookies throughout the show
- Spin the wheel and win a Segway tour… or a compliment 🙁
- Jeff Evans snuggles with Alli the Alligator (I have no idea what it’s name is!)
- Edumazement Productions’ Rick Anderson wows visitors to the Edumazement booth
- Singer/songwriter/comedian/actor Rick Huddle and two PTA fans
- Magic makes everything more memorable. It’s why the motivational messages that weave into our presentations have such a big impact.
- Smart with Art, one of many great resources for PTA members and their schools
