Hands-On Science Workshops

I first began doing my Science Magic school assembly program in 1997.  I developed it for libraries and presented it for dozens of branches of the King County Library System.  It was really well-received and I enjoyed doing it.  (Science is magic!)  So, the next year when the Richmond Beach Library wanted me to put together a multi-week Science Magic Workshop I was game.

In the years since then I have concentrated on presenting assembly programs rather than workshop format.  Fast forward to the fall of 2010.  The City of Longview plans an Earth Day festival each year and heard great things from my visit to Olympic Elementary in Longview doing my Science Magic show.  Check out these video clips of some of the hands-on science demonstrations.

Last weekend all of the pieces came together at the Cowlitz County Expo Center for Earth Day.  A huge thank-you to my high school volunteers Angela, Charlie, and Marina who helped staff the various stations.  And, Karry with Longview Recreation who coordinated the whole event.  I couldn’t have one it without them!
